Public Invited For Engagement Session On Stadium Shah Alam Complex Redevelopment

The Stadium Shah Alam which is scheduled for a new makeover recently courted controversy firstly due to the large cost involved and secondly on whether to demolish or just spruce it up.

Estimated to be around RM787 million, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had defended the decision to rebuild the iconic stadium which became an eyesore after being left in a derelict state. The MB is confident his new proposal can see s revival of the stadium with new ideas and activities scheduled to be organised at the venue.

In a recent post, Amirudin invited the public to participate in the engagement session of the Shah Alam Sports Complex Development Project (KSSA) at the SACC Mall Atrium.

“As I have informed before, the KSSA Development Project engagement and exhibition session will start from January 26 until February 10. The public is invited to give feedback,” he said on Facebook.

On January 5, Amirudin announced that the redevelopment of KSSA, including the state stadium, will begin in the first quarter of this year.

he project is expected to be completed along with the construction of the Light Railway Transit (LRT) 3 station which is implemented in a public-private partnership with Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad and will bear the cost of development without using public funds.
