FBM KLCI Weighed Down By Profit-Taking in Selected Heavyweights, Dipped 0.26% Lower at Noon

Bursa Malaysia ended the Friday morning trading session lower with the benchmark index FBM KLCI dropped 3.95 points or -0.26% at 1,494.44. The KLCI was gravitated south, attributed to the selling pressure in selected heavyweights in the financial services and energy sector.

At 9:00 am, the main index opened higher at 1,499.97 vis-a-vis yesterday’s close of 1,498.39.

During the morning trading session, the index was traded in the range of 1,493.22 – 1,500.91.

Meanwhile, on the broader market exhibited negative breadth with gainers outpaced decliners 453 to 370, while 398 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume and value were registered at 2.81 billion units and RM1.20 billion respectively.

Top five active counters for the morning session were MMAG Holdings, ATA IMS, Aimflex, Nylex Malaysia, Hong Seng Consolidated.

Top five gainers were Hextar Technologies Solutions, Heineken Malaysia, Malaysian Pacific Industries, Fraser & Neave, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia.

Whilst top five decliners were PETRONAS Gas, Ajinomoto Malaysia, Frontken Corp, Hong Leong Bank, Pentamaster.
