Nation’s Services Producer Price Index Marks Increase of 3.3% YoY

The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) released the Services Producer Price Index (SPPI) for fourth quarter of last year (Q4 2022).

In Q4 2022, SPPI was stood at 114.3; It marked an increase of 3.3% year-on-year (YoY). On a quarterly basis, it marked an increment of 0.4%.

The component in SPPI which posted the highest spike is Accommodations, Food & Beverage, Service Activities. It was 147.7 and posted a spike of 8% year-on-year whereas 1.6% quarter-on-quarter.

The next component which posted big increment was Transportation, at 110.9. It grew up 5.3% year-on-year and 1.1% quarter-on-quarter.

While Arts, Entertainment & Recreation at 102.9. For yearly basis, this component rose 5.3%. However, it slid 4.2% on a quarterly basis.

The only component that posted zero increment is Information & Communication, at 101.1, be it yearly- or quarterly-basis.
