Natural Rubber Production Climbed 8.9% in December 2022

Production of natural rubber rose 8.9% for the month of December last year, according to Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

In terms of tonnage, a total of 30,556 tonnes of natural rubber was produced in December 2022 vis-a-vis 28,048 tonnes in November 2022.

Rubber gloves takes the lion’s share of the rubber consumption, with 19,988 tonnes; followed by Others with 3,736 tonnes. While Rubber Thread consumed 2893 tonnes, and Tyres & Tube, 2005 tonnes.

The three largest export markets of rubber would be China (47.6%), Germany (4.2%) and USA (4.2%).
