FBM KLCI Rebounded and Gained 0.56%, Lifted by Bargain Hunting

Bursa Malaysia snapped its losing streak and ended the Friday morning trading session in positive note with the bell-weathered index FBM KLCI climbed 8.16 points or +0.56% at 1,472.80.

The main index recouped its losses and rebounded from its one-month low. It is lifted by bargain-hunting of selected heavyweights.

At 9:00 am, the main index inched up slightly higher at 1,465.05 vis-a-vis yesterday’s close of 1,464.64.

During the morning trading session, the index oscillated in the range of 1,463.31 – 1,473.38.

Meanwhile, on the broader market was negative with decliners outnumbered gainers 501 to 345, while 375 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume and value were registered at 2.08 billion units and RM1.21 million respectively.

Top five active counters for the morning session My EG Services, Sapura Energy, Velesto Energy, SYF Resources, PT Resources Holdings.

Top five gainers were Hong Leong Bank, Heineken Malaysia, Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia, PETRONAS Gas.

Whilst top five decliners were Hextar Technologies Solutions, Malaysian Pacific Industries, Fraser & Neave, British American Tobacco, Kobay Technology
