AirAsia X Bhd was today issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia due to a sharp rise in its share price and trading volume recently.
The counter opened at RM1.45 today and surged as much as 27% to hit its intraday high of RM1.79 at 11.20am.
As at 4.10pm, it was trading at RM1.68 – still up 27 sen or 19.15% from Thursday’s closing of RM1.41. Its market capitalisation stood at RM688.6 million. A total of 41.42 million shares were traded.
Bursa requested that AirAsia X disclose any corporate developments, rumours or reports concerning the business and affairs of the group, and any other possible reasons, which may account for the UMA.
