Malaysia has secured a record RM170 billion worth of investment commitment from China.

The amount, the biggest so far from China, is from a total of 19 memoranda of understanding (MoU) sealed between businesses in China and Malaysia.

FGV Appoints Dato Sharol Anuwar As New Chairman

FGV Holdings has appointed Dato’ Shahrol Anuwar Sarman as its new Chairman after Dato Dzulkifli ended his tenure with the cessation of office. 

Dato’ Shahrol Anuwar began his career as an Assistant Secretary at the Loans Management and Finance Policy Division in the Ministry of Finance (MoF) in 1996. In 2003, he became the Assistant Director at Human Resource Management and Administration Division (Head of Finance and Account Unit) for Anti-Corruption Agency Malaysia. In 2004, he was appointed as the Principal Assistant Secretary of Timber Industry Division under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, where he served for 2 years.

Bursa Implements New Listing Framework For LEAP To ACE Market Transfer

Bursa Malaysia Securities has issued amendments to the ACE Market Listing Requirements in relation to the transfer of the listing framework from the LEAP Market to the ACE Market, which will facilitate eligible LEAP Market-listed corporations to graduate to the ACE Market.

The amendments also include the introduction of a recognised approved adviser framework which will expand the pool of Sponsors/Advisers in the ACE Market in respect of the transfer of listings and permitted corporate exercises. This the Exchange said is to increase the accessibility and attractiveness of the equities market.

RapidKL To Discontinue 6 LRT Lines From April 2

RadidKL has announced that the LRT service operations at six LRT stations on the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line involving Bandaraya Station, Sultan Ismail, PWTC, Titiwangsa, Sentul and Sentul Timur will be discontinued from 2 April 2023.

It added this is due to the train used for the service between the Bandaraya Station to the East Sentul Station can no longer meet the operating criteria that have been set and had to be removed from the service for safety reasons. It is a follow-up to the incident of structural and track damage near the Bandaraya LRT Station which has caused trains to unable to return to the LRT Depot in Ampang to undergo maintenance work since 27 January 2023.

Financial Institutions To Cease Imposing Fees On Housing Loan Documents: BNM

Bank Negara Malaysia has announced the introduction of a standardised housing loan and home financing agreement for retail borrowers. This initiative seeks to enhance the quality-of-service delivery, promote consumer understanding and comparability of key terms and conditions, and simplify language in such agreements, including customers’ and financiers’ responsibilities and obligations.

This move is part of the Central Bank’s commitment in promoting fair consumer outcomes in the financial industry in accordance with the Policy Document of Fair Treatment of Financial Consumers, as well as other relevant policy documents, guidelines, and circulars issued by the central bank
