The government said it will channel Aidilfitri Special Financial Assistance amounting to RM63.75 million to 318,642 small rubber farmers under the Rubber Industry Smallholder Development Authority (RISDA), said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development said that by channeling aid through his ministry and Risda, each small-scale rubber farmer will earn approximately RM200. This was aimed at easing the financial burden and allowing them to meet their upcoming Hari Raya needs. “This aid will be credited after the announcement and will continue to be credited to each individual’s account.
“The aid is an additional initiative from Budget 2023 announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim involving a total of 850,000 small rubber farmers, rice farmers, and fishermen,” he said. The beneficiaries are those with small rubber farms under 2.5 hectares.
