LYC Healthcare Bhd (LYC) via its wholly owned subsidiary, LYC Dental & Aesthetic Holdings Sdn Bhd (LYC D&A) has completed the acquisition of a 55.0% equity stake in Elite Dental Team Sdn Bhd (EDTSB) for RM5.5 million cash.
The addition of EDTSB clinics brings the total number of dental clinics under LYC to 30 dental clinics. This includes the 3 KL Dental Clinics which were also acquired by the group in October 2022 and 1 KL Dental Clinic that was set up post-acquisition in Sunway Velocity Mall in Cheras.
EDTSB provides consultancy services and dental treatments which includes preventative dentistry, general dentistry, children dentistry, gum disease treatment, restorative dentistry, laser dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics and others such as dental implant and full mouth rehabilitation.
EDTSB operates 26 dental clinics throughout Malaysia including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and Sabah. The dental brands operating under EDTSB are PrimeCare Dental Clinic, Signature PrimeCare Dental, Lite Dental, Phi Dental and Quay Dental.
“Throughout our dental and aesthetic clinics, we will build synergies to lift overall revenue from patient referrals and standardisation of clinic protocols through our enlarged network and patient database across the other healthcare platforms. With our sights set on further expansion, we will continue to grow via the establishment of new clinic outlets and to bring in more dental services and technologies to attract more customers. A fourth clinic under KL Dental is scheduled to be opened by mid-2023, further enhancing our total network,” he concluded.
