Malaysian Autoshow 2023 Records 190k Visitors With Over RM1 Billion In Potential Sales

Malaysia Autoshow 2023 closed its door after 4 days of receiving about 190,000 visitors breaking the billion-ringgit threshold, with OEMs reporting a total of RM1 billion in potential sales with about 2,200 bookings of vehicles, and about 6,800 sales leads gathered.

The number of bookings recorded was 41% of the total bookings for EV, the manufacturers provided the opportunity for visitors to book their electric vehicles during the event, indicating a growing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles and the increasing awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles.

In addition to the latest cars and technology, Malaysia’s national brands took center stage through the revealing of new concepts and product offerings. Perodua introduced the R&D Aspiration Showcase, showcasing the cutting-edge innovation of PERODUA EM-O (ELECTRIC MOTION ONLINE), which was the centre of attraction at their showcase.

Proton also revealed the Proton X90 at their booth as soon as the model was launched by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at their official launch in Kuala Lumpur. Other notable brands including GWM, Honda, Toyota, Chery, Kia, and EONs put up a strong line up of their latest models from both ICE and electrical variants.
