Madani Agro Sales To Benefit 1.8 Million Households

The Madani Agro Sales Program organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is said to benefit over 1.8 million B40 households said its Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

The program which began last April is the rebranding of the Direct from Farm Sales program was implemented through the Federal Agricultural Marketing Board (FAMA), LPP, and LKIM. This program aims to increase accessibility and availability of fresh products at a reasonable price offering savings between 10 to 30 percent of the local market price. Products offered include fresh vegetable products, fruit, chicken, eggs, fish, and meat. Also on the list are control goods products such as oil, flour, rice, and selected basic foods. This program also helps to reduce the middle layer bringing producers directly to consumers through the concept of direct sales.

For 2023, the Ministry aims to implement 900 MADANI Agro Sales programs across the country involving as many as 13,000 entrepreneurs with target sales of RM13.5 million. An estimated total of 1.8 million B40 households and M40 are expected to enjoy savings, for the record from April 30, 2023, as many as 424 programs have been organized involving 6,312 entrepreneurs with a sales value of RM9.35 million.

The Ministry has assured there will be more Madani Agro starting in June 2023.
