Suria Capital Holdings Berhad announced the appointment of Lai Su Yin as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 1 June 2023.
As the CFO, he will be responsible for strategic planning and lead financial initiatives for the Group which includes Suria subsidiaries, Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd and SCHB Engineering Services Sdn Bhd.
Prior to joining Suria, Lai Su Yin, 54, served as the Financial Controller at Acacia Forest Industries Sdn Bhd, a company involved in tropical plantation forestry.
He has over 27 years of experience in leading financial operations and has held other senior financial leadership roles during his career. He has deep and extensive experience in budget monitoring, expenditure control , project financial evaluation and most notably, safeguarding and maximising high – value investments.
Lai is a certified chartered accountant from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants as well as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Accounting from the Bolton Institute of Higher Education.
