TNB Promotes Safe Working Environment Through Summit For GLCs

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is taking the lead in promoting a safe working environment by hosting the first-ever summit on occupational safety and health among Government-Linked Companies (GLC) employees, in conjunction with the recent World Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Day 2023.

The inaugural GLC Occupational Safety and Health Summit (GLC OSH Summit) 2023 in Bangi, Selangor discussed the challenges related to the goal of strengthening safety culture and consistency in its regulatory compliance.

TNB President and CEO, Dato’ Indera Ir. Baharin Din, stated that this summit signifies the commitment and unity among GLCs in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of safety-focused work culture practices.

“It has a positive impact on GLCs, especially in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in Protecting Labour Rights and Promoting a Safe Working Environment,” he said at the GLC OSH Summit 2023 Opening Ceremony officiated by the Human Resources Minister, V. Sivakumar.

The GLC OSH Summit serves as a platform for sharing best practices in GLC Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) to improve systems within their respective organisations. It discusses current issues and the way forward, fosters collaboration among GLCs from different sectors, and provides a space for making suggestions and recommendations to the government for improving national OSH management.
The one-day program was organised in collaboration with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

A total of 210 participants from 25 GLCs, ministries and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health participated in the summit to strengthen the GLC network and stakeholders to ensure high levels of physical, mental, and social well-being in their respective organisations.
