Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today launched the New City with five variants including a new RS variant. The most sought-after Honda model receives a refreshed design featuring a bolder exterior and advanced features that offer convenience and practicality for customers.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director Hironobu Yoshimura said, “The popularity of the City is undeniable. Since it was introduced in 2002, there are now more than 423,000 City on Malaysian roads.
The 5th Generation City which was introduced in 2020 further elevated the B-segment as Malaysia was the first country in the world to launch the e:HEV RS variant.
To further offer our customers with value and feature offerings, the New City will be available in two RS variants, the e:HEV RS and Petrol RS, in which customers will have more options based on their needs and demands.”
The unique RS design in the New City features new Honeycomb Front Grille, new Front Lower Grille, new Rear Diffuser, new Side Skirting, and a newly designed “RS” emblem.
Other sporty exterior features of the New City include new Front Bumper, new Rear Bumper and new 16-inch Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels1. The Petrol RS and e:HEV RS variants of the New City is now longer with refreshed bumper design measuring 4,589mm in length while the S, E and V variants are 4,580 mm in length.
The top-of-the-range RS variant is equipped with the 1.5L e:HEV powertrain which produces 109PS of maximum output and 253Nm torque which is best-in-its-class.
Meanwhile, the 1.5 DOHC i-VTEC engine of the New City can deliver a maximum power of 121PS and a maximum torque of 145Nm. To provide customers with an engaged and sporty driving experience, Paddle Shift now comes standard in all Petrol variants.
The e:HEV RS variant is fitted with Deceleration Selector Paddles that enable the driver to engage on the paddles for power regeneration and to decelerate the vehicle without stepping on the brake pedal. In terms of interior enhancement, both Petrol RS and e:HEV RS are equipped with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™² Wireless Connectivity and a 7” TFT Meter.
Except for the S variant, all other variants share new upgraded features, namely 8 Speakers, new interface for Display Audio, enhanced Multi-Angle Rear View Camera and new Rear USB Port (Type C).
The New City remains practical with the 60:40 Split Rear Seat configuration which offers more space, making it easy to carry extra-long cargo without sacrificing passenger comfort.
Meanwhile, the 519³ litres of cargo space continues to be an attraction in the New City. As with all Honda models, the New City is equipped with Honda’s suite of advanced Honda SENSING safety features, a standard feature for all variants which consist of safety functions below: 1/ Low Speed Follow (LSF) – applicable for e:HEV RS only

The New City Petrol RS and e:HEV RS receive smartphone connectivity with the Honda CONNECT as a standard advanced feature. In an effort to offer more value, customers now have the option to equip their New City with Honda CONNECT for the non-RS variants. Honda Malaysia is currently offering a special price of RM1,500.00⁴ until January 2024 for the optional Honda CONNECT.

Honda Malaysia targets to sell 2,400 units of the New City monthly upon its launch.
The New City will be offered in five colours namely Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.
