Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and first lady Datuk Seri Wan Azizah cast their vote for the Permatang Pauh state seat in the Penang state election.
Both looked cheerful and shook hands with voters who were readying to make their selection on who will be running the northern island state for the next 5 years.
Penang, a stronghold for the Unity Government ally party DAP has been a fortress for the incumbent since wrestling it over from Barisan Nasional but looks vulnerable due to imbalance within the party and certain unhappy islanders.
Anwar has been on a whirlwind tour of all six states, rallying support for the incumbents and calling on opposition states to make a change to align with the Federal Government.
