Bursa Malaysia ended Monday’s (Aug 28) morning trading session lower following the US Federal Reserve’s higher rates mantra at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium last Friday and potential local results season jitters, said Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd.
At lunch break, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 1.67 points to 1,442.74 from 1,444.41 at the close last Friday.
The key index, which opened 0.74 of-a-point lower at 1,443.67, moved between 1,441.78 and 1,445.31 throughout the session.
However, the broader market was positive with advancers edging decliners 464 to 449, while 364 counters were unchanged, 1,115 untraded and 23 others suspended.
