Scoot Welcomes First Embraer E190-E2 Aircraft To Singapore Fleet

Singapore’s low-cost carrier, Scoot, has ushered in a new era with the arrival of its inaugural Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, named Explorer 3.0, at Singapore Changi Airport today.

This marked the commencement of Scoot’s fleet expansion plans, with a total of nine E190-E2s scheduled for delivery by the end of 2025.

The historic moment unfolded as the aircraft, handed over to Scoot at Embraer’s production facility in São José dos Campos Brazil on April 11, embarked on its journey to Singapore on April 12.

After making several fuel stops en route, the aircraft was greeted with a ceremonious water cannon salute upon its arrival this afternoon.

Scoot, Chief Executive Officer, Leslie Thing expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to receive our first E190-E2 aircraft in Singapore today.

This milestone marks the start of a new chapter for Scoot, made possible through the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of our valued partners.”

Acknowledging the collaborative efforts of entities such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Changi Airport Group (CAG), Embraer, and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), Thing emphasised their integral role in ensuring the seamless integration of the E190-E2 aircraft into Scoot’s operations.

With the promise of enhanced efficiency and passenger experience, Scoot eagerly anticipates welcoming travelers aboard its new fleet in the near future.
