MAS Gives Sneak Peek Of First A330 Neo Arriving In Q3

Malaysian Airlines gave a sneak peek of its first Airbus A330 Neo which the airline said will be arriving to Malaysia in quarter three this year.

On its official X post, MAS showed the A330neo aircraft going through its final assembly in Toulouse, with the main fuselage sections, wings, and tail adorned with the airline’s iconic wau logo fully attached, it said the aircraft will undergo installation of the cockpit, engines, landing gear, electrical wiring, avionics, and fuel and hydraulic systems.

After which the A330 Neo will then proceed with thorough ground checks, cabin installation and prepare for its first test flight, before making its journey to Malaysia.

According to Airbus, theA330neo has the highest wingspan and aspect-ratio for any widebody airliner in its category – making it one of the most aero-efficient airliner wings ever.

The benefit of this on the A330neo is lower induced drag and higher lift at all speeds and flight phases. In other words, this means greater aerodynamic efficiency leading to lower fuel burn, less CO2, more range and of course more revenue-generating payload.
