MARSU Brings French Flair to Kuala Lumpur’s 2024 French Festival

Amidst the vibrant lineup of the 2024 French Festival organized by the French Alliance of Kuala Lumpur, MARSU, accompanied by her seasoned musicians, promises a captivating performance. Renowned for her eclectic repertoire blending original compositions, classical French melodies, and excerpts from the acclaimed French production “Les Franglaises”, MARSU is set to enthrall audiences with her dynamic stage presence and innovative musical style.

Having launched her career with a notable EP in 2019, MARSU returns in 2024 with a fresh sonic direction. Embracing a fusion of pop and rock influences, her upcoming releases from April to December 2024 are poised to make waves in the music scene. The artist, also known as Marie-Suzanne Lacroix, embodies versatility as a singer, actress, and musician, notably portraying the “electric blonde” in the award-winning musical “LES FRANGLAISES” at Paris’s prestigious Bobino Theatre. Since 2019, she has not only performed but also served as the artistic director of this celebrated production.

In her debut album under the FRENCH GOOSE label, MARSU revitalized classic French songs with contemporary twists, earning praise for her daring interpretations. Collaborating with Xavier Pourcher and Alexandre Deschamps, her live performances at Parisian landmarks such as LES TROIS BAUDETS showcased her prowess in reimagining vintage tunes into vibrant, modern compositions.

Accompanying MARSU on stage are her longtime collaborators: Alexandre Deschamps, a versatile guitarist and acclaimed music producer, and Xavier Pourcher, a prolific composer with a knack for blending oriental and electronic sounds. Together, they bring a unique energy to their reinterpretations of French music legends like Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, and Serge Gainsbourg, promising a blend of nostalgia and innovation.
