Govt To Review Proposal For Placing MACC Under Parliament

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government will review on the proposal to place the country’s graft busting agency, the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission under the parliament.

Bac in 2023, the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH) applauded the statement by Anwar after he saod that the government was receptive to placing the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission under Parliament and the appointment process of its chief to be vetted by the Parliamentary Select Committee.

However, these are still early proposals and more studeis need to be conducted before any reforms can be undertaken for the high profile agency.
