State Offers RM300 Monthly Assistance For Households Below RM5000 Income

The eligibility criteria for the Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) program have been relaxed to include households earning below RM5,000, up from the previous RM3,000, ensuring more people can benefit from this initiative.

The State Executive Councillor for Social Welfare announced that the annual RM3,600 assistance can be applied for starting today until 15 August via the Langkah Masuk Dengan Selamat (SELangkah) app or the website

“Bingkas provides RM300 per month for 24 months to help with essential purchases such as food, medicine, and educational supplies.

“This program, with a budget allocation of RM108 million, targets 30,000 recipients, making Bingkas one of the largest financial aid programs compared to other states,” said Anfaal Saari during a press conference today.

She added that several other conditions are in place to ensure the assistance reaches the intended recipients, including having two dependents under the age of 18.

“Applicants must be local residents and registered voters in Selangor. Additionally, they must have lived in the state for over 10 years or have been born here.

“This program aims to eradicate extreme poverty in the country and contribute to achieving the macro indicators of the Selangor First Plan (RS-1) to reduce relative poverty,” she said.

Bingkas is part of the 46 initiatives under the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang program launched in 2022, replacing the Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (KISS) and KISS IT (Ibu Tunggal) schemes.

The assistance is distributed via the Wavpay e-wallet app to facilitate recipient spending.
