Sunway Pyramid’s 250,000 Sq ft  Expansion To Be Unveiled In Q4

Sunway Pyramid is set to reveal its newly reconfigured retail space, Oasis, by the fourth quarter of this year. Spanning over 250,000 square feet across four levels from the Orange Atrium to the Blue Atrium, Oasis is a key part of Sunway Pyramid’s initiative to attract high-profile tenants and boost foot traffic.

Oasis will house approximately 100 tenants, including major brands such as H&M Home, Art Toys Cafe by MILOLO, and the MUJI Flagship Store & Café. This expansion will bring the total number of tenants at Sunway Pyramid to 1,000. The reconfiguration aims to enhance the mall’s appeal and drive increased revenue through higher rents per square foot.

Sunway Pyramid has also appointed Jaya Grocer as the anchor tenant for this redevelopment. Currently located on level B2, Jaya Grocer will relocate to a larger space at LG2 with a new concept, enhancing the mall’s offerings and overall asset yield.

Jason Chin, Senior General Manager of Sunway Pyramid, stated, “The unveiling of Oasis represents a significant step in our mission to elevate the retail experience at Sunway Pyramid. This upgrade broadens our tenant mix with leading brands and is designed to attract more visitors, ensuring we remain a top destination in Malaysia’s retail landscape.”

Oasis, with a projected net lettable area of 2 million square feet, is expected to make a substantial contribution to Sunway Pyramid’s revenue. This redevelopment is part of the mall’s broader strategy to remain at the forefront of retail innovation.

In addition to Oasis, Sunway Pyramid is enhancing customer experience through several initiatives. Since 2022, the mall has introduced Malaysia’s first internet-of-toilet (IoT) system, featuring a modern neo-Egyptian themed smart toilet. Key innovations include a traffic light system for cubicle occupancy, bidet functions, low-level exhausts, ammonia sensors, a backend fault detection system, and an emergency alert button. The toilets will also have a family room for parents and individuals with disabilities.

Other upgrades include a new interactive self-service kiosk, an improved Sunway Malls App with navigation and event features, new escalators connecting the Blue and Orange Atriums, and electric vehicle and hybrid charging stations at CP2 and B1 Preferred Parking.

Additionally, the Terrace, an outdoor space next to Oasis, is set to open by Q2 2025, providing a nature-inspired environment and space for more high-yielding tenants.
