Vantage Data Centers, a global leader in hyperscale data centre campuses, has officially launched its second Cyberjaya campus (KUL2) in Malaysia. The new development, situated on 35 acres of land next to Vantage’s existing KUL1 campus, is set to provide 256MW of IT capacity upon full completion, catering to the growing demands of cloud adoption and artificial intelligence (AI).
Key Highlights:
- The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by high-profile Malaysian government officials and local partners, including YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry; YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital; Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, CEO of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA); Dato’ Romli bin Ishak, Chairman of Cyberview Sdn Bhd; Kamarul Ariffin Abdul Samad, CEO of Cyberview; and Hasmarizal Bin Hassan, Chief Grid Officer of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
Strategic Importance: The KUL2 campus will enhance Vantage’s position in the Malaysian market and contribute significantly to the nation’s digital economy. This expansion aligns with Vantage’s broader investment strategy, which includes a planned US$3 billion (RM13.32 billion) investment in Malaysia announced last year. The multi-facility campus will cater to both cloud and high-density computing needs, supporting Vantage’s goal of providing a total of 287MW of IT capacity in Malaysia across both campuses.

Additional Developments: Vantage Data Centers has also signed an Electricity Supply Agreement (ESA) with TNB for 500MVA-rated power capacity via a dedicated 275kV high-voltage substation for KUL2. Kamal Arifin A. Rahman, Chief Retail Officer of TNB, noted that TNB’s Green Lane Pathway initiative would expedite the powering of the new campus while supporting Malaysia’s sustainability goals through renewable energy sources.
This new campus represents a significant step forward for Vantage Data Centers in expanding its global footprint and supporting Malaysia’s ambitions to be a leading hub for AI and high-tech infrastructure.
