The Westin Kuala Lumpur has announced the appointment of Daniel Burstein as its new General Manager. In his new role, Daniel will oversee all aspects of operations and management at the Marriott International premium lifestyle hotel, while driving The Westin brand’s commitment to enhancing guests’ well-being through its curated programmes.
Daniel brings a wealth of experience and a global perspective to The Westin Kuala Lumpur. Prior to this appointment, he served as the General Manager at Four Points by Sheraton, Kuala Lumpur Chinatown, where his leadership earned the team numerous awards and accolades.
With a distinguished career that spans Europe, the Middle East, Seychelles, New Zealand, and Singapore, Daniel has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic insight. His journey in the hospitality industry began in food and beverage management, where he excelled as Director of Restaurants at Marriott Marquis City Center in Doha. He quickly advanced to become Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, and further honed his expertise as Director of Food & Beverage and later as Director of Operations at the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel in Singapore and Marriott Hotel Al Forsan in Abu Dhabi. Daniel attained his first General Manager role at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur in 2022.
Daniel’s leadership has been recognised with several accolades, including the 2017 Marriott International SABRE Award Asia Pacific for Restaurateur of the Year during his tenure at Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, Singapore. His commitment to service excellence, team empowerment, and operational effectiveness has consistently driven organisational success and financial growth.
Outside of his professional achievements, Daniel is an avid traveller with a passion for travel photography and running, embodying The Westin’s Move Well pillar with his regular evening runs.
