Following the remarkable success of his “Blessing” world tour in Kuala Lumpur last October, Japanese Zen music master Kanho Yakushiji (藥師寺寬邦) is set to return to Malaysia with a fresh and enlightening concert experience. Themed “Satori” (悟), this upcoming performance promises to captivate audiences once again, blending Zen philosophy with Yakushiji’s distinctive musical artistry.
Scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024, at ZEPP Kuala Lumpur, the “Satori” tour is more than just a musical event; it is a journey into self-discovery, happiness, and enlightenment through music.
The concert coincides with the release of Yakushiji’s latest 10-track album, The Enlightenment -SATORI-, which was launched on August 16. The album delves into themes of self-realization and future blessings through a series of powerful musical compositions, encouraging listeners to engage in deep reflection.
The concept of Satori, a Japanese term signifying a profound experience of realization and understanding, lies at the heart of this tour. Yakushiji emphasizes that Satori is not only about uncovering answers but also about achieving complete liberation of the mind and body. Through his music, he aims to guide audiences toward their own moments of realization, offering a sense of peace amid the complexities of modern life.
In light of the global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, which have significantly impacted mental health, Yakushiji believes that Zen and music can serve as a powerful remedy for the soul. Following his performance in Kuala Lumpur, Yakushiji will continue his regional tour, bringing the Satori experience to fans in Singapore, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Bangkok, Taipei, and Macau.
