Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook today officially inaugurated CapsuleTransit MAX, a new premium boutique hotel situated within Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2). This innovative facility aims to elevate the transit accommodation experience for both domestic and international travellers to a new level.

CapsuleTransit MAX, which stands for Malaysia’s Authentic eXperience, offers an impressive array of amenities that rival those of a five-star hotel. The establishment features 46 luxurious beds, a sophisticated lounge, a spa, and a fully-equipped gym, all located on the landside of KLIA2.

During the launch event, Loke highlighted the timing of the opening as Malaysia prepares for the Visit Malaysia Year 2026, emphasising the importance of catering to the needs of discerning tourists and business travellers. He also congratulated CapsuleTransit on its 10th anniversary, commending the company for its role in enhancing airport offerings through collaboration between the government and private sector.

CapsuleTransit founder and CEO Ryan Loo shared that CapsuleTransit MAX merges luxury, heritage, and modernism with a touch of fun, aiming to deliver a unique and memorable stay for guests. The hotel’s design, crafted by the internationally acclaimed Blu Water Studio, reflects Malaysia’s ingenuity and creativity. Collaborations with notable local brands, including Acaya, APOM, Ana Tomy, Pestle and Mortar Clothing (PMC), and Typical Us, further enhance the authentic Malaysian experience.

CapsuleTransit MAX provides comfortable bed, modern amenities and privacy for a restful experience.

As the first premium Capsule hotel of its kind, CapsuleTransit MAX is designed not just as a place to rest but to enrich the travel experience. Its lounge, the first plant-based airport lounge, offers a variety of plant-based hot meals, light snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. The hotel’s well-appointed rooms include comfortable beds, modern amenities, and privacy for a restful stay. Executive rooms feature long baths, a rare luxury in airport hotels.

Other distinctive features include a “runway suite” with unparalleled views of the runway, a fully-equipped gym—the first of its kind in an airport terminal—and relaxing steam bath facilities. The Business Club offers amenities such as meeting rooms, conference rooms, and an event space.

CapsuleTransit MAX also includes an exclusive merchandise corner with curated products showcasing Malaysia’s vibrant artistic heritage. Loo highlighted the significance of this launch as part of CapsuleTransit’s commitment to welcoming travellers with renowned Malaysian hospitality and positioning Malaysia as a key destination in Asia.

Also attending the opening were Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) Senior General Manager of Commercial Services, Hani Ezra Hussin, WCT Malls CEO, Selena Chua, and other invited guests.

Since its establishment in 2014, CapsuleTransit has expanded significantly from its initial offering of 79 beds. By 2018, the company increased its bed capacity to 204 in KLIA Terminal 2 (Landside), with an additional 70 beds in KLIA Terminal 2 (Airside) by 2019. In June 2023, CapsuleTransit further expanded with 24 beds in KLIA Terminal 1 (Landside), culminating in today’s launch of CapsuleTransit MAX.

Looking ahead to Visit Malaysia Year 2026, CapsuleTransit plans to add approximately 200 more beds in collaboration with MAHB, further enhancing accommodation options for travellers.
