Gobind Singh Deo Announces November Start For National AI Office

The National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Office, supervised by MyDigital Corporation, is set to begin operations in November, according to Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

Gobind announced this after the inauguration of SAS Institute Sdn Bhd’s new office at Menara IQ in Tun Razak Exchange today. He revealed that the Cabinet had approved the proposal to establish the National AI Office two weeks ago.

The main objective of the National AI Office will be to develop an ecosystem that positions Malaysia as a leading AI hub in the region. Gobind highlighted that one of the office’s key goals is to attract global investors to view Malaysia as a prime destination for data centres and related technologies.

He further emphasised the importance of preparing Malaysia for new technologies and advancements. “With the establishment of the National AI Office, Malaysia has taken significant steps towards becoming a global leader in this field,” he added.
