Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has extended his warmest congratulations to Mr Shigeru Ishiba on his election as Prime Minister of Japan. In his statement, Anwar highlighted that Japan is one of Malaysia’s most cherished and vital partners, noting that their bond was further strengthened last December when the relationship was elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Anwar acknowledged Japan’s pivotal role in Malaysia’s economic journey, stating that Japanese companies have been indispensable partners in the country’s pursuit of a high-tech, high-value economy. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida for his unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in fostering strong ties between Malaysia and Japan.
