Agong Returns Home After Historic State Visit To Russia

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim has returned to Malaysia today after completing a five-day state visit to Russia, the first by a Malaysian head of state since diplomatic ties were established in 1967.

The special aircraft carrying His Majesty landed at Senai International Airport, Johor, at 6.30 am, where he was greeted by the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, along with Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim.

Sultan Ibrahim’s visit, held from August 5 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed previous state visits to Singapore, China and Brunei since ascending the throne on January 31, 2024.
