EC States 2.7 Million Voters Eligible For Johor Election

The Election Commission (EC) has recorded 2.73 million registered voters eligible to cast their ballots in the upcoming Johor state election, with more than 42,000 personnel expected to be deployed to manage the polls.

EC secretary Khairul Shahril Idrus said a total of 2,727,926 voters are eligible under the Supplementary Electoral Roll for April 2026, which was gazetted on May 21 as reported by Bernama.

Of the total, 2,703,175 are ordinary voters, while 24,751 comprise police personnel and their spouses from the General Operations Force (GOF), as well as military personnel and their spouses.

The EC also identified 56,655 persons with disabilities (PWDs) on the electoral roll, who will require special arrangements to ensure a comfortable voting experience.

Khairul Shahril said the voter count remains subject to updates from the supplementary electoral roll that will be finalised at the EC’s Special Meeting on June 12.

He added that 42,023 election workers, including 56 Returning Officers, election staff and security personnel, are expected to be mobilised for the state polls.

The EC is currently finalising operational and logistical preparations, including polling centres, voting streams and staffing requirements.
