New Feature On StoreHub To Assist F&B Businesses During MCO

Tech company, StoreHub’s food delivery feature called Beep Delivery brings thousands of food delivery & takeout for restaurants and cafes online to enable Malaysians order food from their favourite cafes and restaurants during Malaysia’s 14-day Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

This new delivery feature was built in 48-hours a day after the MCO was announced.

All F&B businesses need to do is send their uniquely-generated website link to their customers to access their online menu and order.

As StoreHub partners with GoGet and a consortium of logistics partners which have in total over 23,000 riders  across Kuala Lumpur, Penang and JB to provide food delivery services for over 3,000+ F&B businesses, customers orders can be fulfilled without a hitch or they can choose to pick up their order themselves.

To ease the burden of restaurant’s ability to survive, StoreHub is subsidising the transaction fees during this difficult time. Instead of the usual 35 percent charged by other third party food delivery marketplace apps, StoreHub is only charging 2 percent on every transaction.

This will ensure that restaurants will keep afloat and be able to scale up delivery to generate cash flow.

According to a report by JP Morgan Chase, the average restaurant only holds 16 days of cash buffer.

This was the driving force for StoreHub and its team to rally around Beep Delivery, a #SaveOurStores plan, and work non stop to ensure that businesses don’t run out of cash.

In a statement, Fong Wai Hong, CEO and Co-Founder of StoreHub said that many F&B outlets’ revenue dropped by 80 percent, with some even doing zero sales.

“We knew we had to act immediately, Fong pointed out to Business Today, since there are around 200,000 F&B businesses in Malaysia. These businesses support the livelihoods of millions of families throughout Malaysia.”

“It’s our top priority that we help local businesses keep running during this time.”

In additon, StoreHub also launched FoodDelivery.com.my, a directory of F&B businesses in Malaysia that offers food delivery services directly to Malaysians stranded at home throughout the MCO.

This directory is to promote not only businesses who have enabled Beep Delivery, but also for businesses which run their own food delivery services.

According to Xin-Ci Chin, Head of Marketing at StoreHub, “For F&B business owners running their own food delivery, they can get onto this directory by submitting a form and within 24 hours they will be listed on the website.”
