The representative of Selangor in economics and business, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI Selangor) has launched the Selangor Kerjaya Programme under the “Pakej Rangsangan Ekonomi Negeri Selangor Fasa Ke-3” initiatives.

The programme aims to propel the economy of the states’ citizens through effective job placement. Candidates will go through profiling assessment and job-matching before the actual job placements take part.

“According to the Malaysia Gross Domestic Product (KDNK), the decline is as much as 2.7 percent and the unemployment rate increased from 3.5 percent in Q1 2020 to 5.5 percent in Q2 of the same year. Due to the unstable economy, youths’ unemployment rate skyrocketed to 12.5 percent,” Menteri Besar of Selangor, Amirudin Bin Shari said.

Selangor Kerjaya will approach these issues with three core pillars which are profiling, upskilling, and job placement that can offer 10,000 jobs for the three upcoming years.

“Selangor Kerjaya is a talent and labour programme to deal with the unemployment post Covid-19. This will tremendously help recent university graduates, SPM leavers and Vocational students, and retrenched employers all over Selangor,” the Menteri Besar added.

The launch highlighted how MBI Selangor partners with the players in the aerospace industry in the state. The programme will benefit from how the State will envision to be the aerospace hub of Malaysia.
