Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (“BPMB”) together with SMK Seri Titiwangsa recently concluded the Road to Excellence, English Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (“SPM”) Workshop for 63 form 5 students to help them prepare for the SPM examination scheduled to begin on Feb 22.
The workshop was aimed at enhancing the students’ skills and technique in tackling the SPM 2020 English paper – particularly in essay writing and targets to improve English efficiency and literacy amongst the students.
The initiative was part of BPMB’s School Adoption programme under its SEEDS (“Supporting English Empowerment to Drive Sustainability”) project that was launched in September 2020. SMK Seri Titiwangsa was the first school to benefit from the programme which allows the students to learn and master the English language whilst gaining knowledge about sustainability.
BPMB President/Group Chief Executive Officer Arshad Mohamed Ismail said, “As one of Malaysia’s Development Financial Institutions, BPMB’s role is to help with nation building. A part of our social duties as a responsible corporate citizen is to nurture our youths today to reach their full potential.”
“We are pleased to have successfully organised the Road to Excellence, English SPM Workshop for form 5 students of SMK Seri Titiwangsa as education is key to a bright future. We hope we can help accelerate the students’ learning growth and prepare them for the next phase of their lives. We look forward to further contribute to the community through our future initiatives under the SEEDS programme.”
The Road to Excellence, English SPM Workshop is a follow-up initiative by BPMB under its SEEDS programme where it had in 2020 contributed computers and equipment to the school, and organised talks for the students by the United Nations, Direct English and ZeroHunger Malaysia
