PM Receives Vaccine
Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine at the Putrajaya District Health Office in Precinct 11

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has officially been inoculated with the Pfizer vaccine and is the first recipient of the National Covid-19 Immunisation programme. 

Apart from Muhyiddin, the Health Director General, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, and four other staff at the Ministry of Health also been vaccinated at the President 11 health Clinic, Putrajaya.

Schedule to start March 1, the first phase of the rollout programme will see more than 500,000 frontliners from healthcare and medical personnel as well as members from security sectors to receive the vaccine.

The second phase of the programme will start from April to August  senior citizen and high-risk groups with morbidity issues to be vaccinated followed by public.

Meanwhile, many states are making preparation to begin the rollout which includes setting up the storage facilities and establishing large vaccination centre including stadiums, conference centres, halls that would enable more people to be inoculated at one time to expedite the process.  

In addition, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation and Coordinating Minister for Covid-19 Immunisation , Khairy Jamaluddin, said they are confident the programme may complete by the end of the year, ahead from the expect date of completion February 2022, and if the vaccine arrives followed the agreement timeline.
