MyDigital set to fuel further growth of networking solutions

The MyDIGITAL initiative which includes the impending arrival of 5G rollout in Malaysia would further enhance of the Digital Economy, and the various solutions that make it possible, including networking equipment, said Fortesys Distribution Sdn Bhd.

Its Regional Sales Director Kevin Kuak said that 5G connectivity would translate into greater productivity as more businesses adopt latest technologies to realise greater efficiencies.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had earlier this year unveiled Malaysia’s MyDIGITAL initiative under the purview of the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, and among the initiatives is the 5G rollout to provide faster and broader internet connectivity to Malaysians in the next decade.

The government is expected to spend some RM15 billion on the country’s 5G network, with the rollout jump-starting by year end.

“5G will bring tremendous benefits such as lower latency, faster speeds, and greater load capacity, with browsing and download speeds estimated to be 10 to 20 times faster than the 4G network,” said Kuak.

For Fortesys, 5G also promises greater demand for networking solutions, including the Peplink range of products which the company distributes.
