Citi Malaysia has extended repayment assistance measures following the recent announcement on the PEMULIH Package to all customers and is actively engaged with those in the B40, M40 and T20 groups as well as microenterprises and SMEs impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Borrowers have the option to choose between a moratorium or a 50% payment program for their loan facilities – both options are valid for a duration of 6 months. Citi credit card customers will also be able to convert their card balances into term loan facilities, to better manage their debt.

Citi Malaysia SME borrowers whose operations are impacted, can opt-in for a 6-month extension to the maturity dates on loans or trade bills or a 50% reduction in installment payments over 6 months for term loans.

Applications for this repayment assistance are available via www.citibank.com.my. These relief assistance programmes are applicable to loans or financing approved before 1 July 2021 which are not in arrears of more than 90 days on the date the moratorium requests are submitted to the bank.

Citi Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Usman Ahmed said, “Our focus is to ensure support for our customers especially at this challenging time given unemployment due to loss of jobs or inability of enterprises to sustain themselves financially. It is here that as a trusted 2/2 and responsible financial partner, seamless execution of all customer requests and prompt service delivery are top priority to us to fulfil the urgent financial needs of our customers.”

Customers are encouraged to utilize Citi’s digital banking channels including Citibank Online at www.citibank.com.my and the Citi Malaysia Mobile App. CitiPhone services are available and operating as usual. Citi Priority, Citigold and eligible SME clients can contact their Relationship Managers to set up appointments as necessary through audio, video or conference calls.
