U Mobile has finally launched its home fibre broadband its maiden venture and will be tapping into Allo Technology a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional for its fibre network backbone.
The fixed network provider has an expansive coverage with its fibre lines especially in the outskirts and sub urban centres. U Mobile will be looking to expand its own footprint in these areas and knowing the telco’s approach in promotion and strategy, Malaysians can expect a disruption in the high speed broadband packages.
U Mobile’s has confirmed a new package with offering of Ultra Unlimited Home Fibre Broadband which is available for now to new and existing customers in selected residential areas in Melaka, Cyberjaya, Perak and Kedah as a pilot. The telco does intend to make its fibre broadband plans available to more locations and to non-U Mobile customers soon.
“U Mobile is excited to be partnering Allo as it marks the start of our foray into fibre broadband. We will definitely be looking to widen our unlimited fibre broadband offering to more customers at more locations in the coming months said Jasmine Lee, Chief Marketing Officer of U Mobile.
As a start, the telco is offering 50% off its fibre plans for 2 years and will be waiving the first month’s fibre bill for its customers.
Allo’s Chief Executive Officer Rodzi Ahmad welcomes the partnership, as its objective has always been to provide last mile reach via its Open Access Network in order for all to gain access to high-speed fibre broadband. U Mobile’s Ultra Unlimited Home Fibre Broadband plans are available and start atRM129 per month for the 100 Mbps plan, RM199 per month for the 500 Mbps plan and RM299 per month for the 1 Gbps plan. All plans comes with a modem and installation under a two-year contract.
