JobStreet launches Program Pemangkin Perniagaan and ‘Jom Apply Kerja’ ahead of Malaysia Day

Malaysia’s leading employment platform JobStreet has announced its ‘Jom Apply Kerja’ initiative to help unemployed rakyat land ‘jobs that matter’ – as part of its Program Pemangkin Perniagaan and overall National Recovery Plan.

JobStreet’s Managing Director Vic Sithasanan (pic) said the impact of lockdown restrictions on the non-essential services industry has taken a huge toll on employment and businesses, and that the organisation intends to do whatever it can to ensure more Malaysians are gainfully employed again.

“JobStreet is committed to helping rebuild our economy as we, collectively as a country, recover from the Pandemic,” he said, adding that the campaign is also held in conjunction with the upcoming Malaysia Day 2021.

The ‘Jom Apply Kerja’ initiative is aimed at empowering blue-collar jobseekers to return to work, while also supporting employers in the F&B and retail sectors with their hiring needs. JobStreet currently has more than a thousand such positions available for both these sectors.

“We are delighted to be part of an initiative that is helping rebuild our economy as we recover from the Pandemic. The impact of lockdown restrictions has definitely taken its toll – and JobStreet’s programme will greatly support our hiring costs and help find suitable candidates for the roles we are urgently trying to fill,” said Mohd Raimi bin Mustaffa, Operations Manager, Domino’s Pizza Malaysia.

As a gesture to encourage unemployed Malaysians to apply for these positions, jobseekers also stand a chance to win various prizes valued at RM 15,000, such as a Honda Vario 150cc, together with Oppo A74 5G mobile phones and Grab vouchers.

JobStreet’s helping hand for businesses impacted by the pandemic

JobStreet is also concurrently running its Program Pemangkin Perniagaan to lend a helping hand to businesses impacted by the pandemic and lockdown restrictions.

For the retail and F&B industries, the company is offering free access to its platform for businesses looking at hiring frontline positions. In addition, JobStreet is also providing employers with additional recruitment support – candidates just need to scan a QR code to instantly access the company’s full list of vacancies.

For companies seeking business and industry insights, JobStreet has also taken the unprecedented step of working closely with them to help these businesses overcome their challenges.

This latest JobStreet initiative follows on from its recent joint collaboration with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) to enable exclusive training incentives, to encourage companies to hire new talents. This collaboration is aimed at creating new job opportunities by helping companies manage total hiring and onboarding costs for business continuity.

Under this collaboration with HRD Corp, employers can claim up to RM3,600 (RM600 x 6 months) for training incentives, which would help to reduce the total cost of hiring new talent, especially from unemployed graduates and school leavers. This incentive is available exclusively for hires made via the JobStreet platform.
