The government will handling out Covid-19 Care Package which consists of test kits and masks for the B40 household in order for them to prepare for the endemic phase.
Prime Minister Dato Seri Ismail Sabri said the aid with an allocation of more than RM471.6 million included, among others, four reusable face masks and four Covid-19 self-test kits for each household.
In addition, each family will also receive a pulse oximeter and a thermometer as well as user guidelines and health brochures.
“This effort, among others, aims at easing the financial burden of B40 households and preparing them towards new normal practices as well as helping them in protecting their families from Covid-19 infection,” he said in a statement.
First to receive the Care Package will be those who received the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat category who are married. This group comprise those who are married with or without children or single parents with children, there are 8.4 million BPR recipients.
This will be a massive undertaking by the Ministry of Health with details set to be announced in short time, Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin had mentioned prior that Malaysians have live with the virus and that the country will entering the endemic phase in October.
Endemic would refer to a locale based outbreak, where strategies to mitigate spreads will be targeted and mostly managed by district departments. (internationalhealthcare.org)
Understandably the government is taking a proactive method as the vulnerable group can be better equipped to tackle the disease if any among family member or community is suspected to show symptoms of Covid-19. BID (brought in dead cases are higher among this group) can be avoided if the caretakers have these simple devices to test early and taking the necessary action for hospitalisation.
