Previously Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) suggested that after Langkawi Island, Kedah, three more destinations would be opened to tourists through the domestic tourism bubble, namely Genting Highlands, Tioman Island and Melaka. On the implementation of the SOP in Pulau Tioman, Kamaruddin said among the SOPs imposed will be visitors must firstly have completed two doses of vaccine and submit the results of their respective Covid-19 screening tests before boarding the ferry. For those who opt to self screen they could buy a self -test kit at the jetty or bring their own, but the test must be done at the jetty terminal. As for clinic tests, the test result letter will have to be checked first before being allowed to board the ferry.
