After the fiasco that took place at KL Concention Centre during the 100 Hari Keluarga Malaysia event, PDRM has decided to extend the discount period for traffic summons payments which was scheduled to end at midnight of the last day to 31 December.

Even since the large crowd that turned up at the event, netizens have been up in arms on the short time frame given to pay their summons and the lack of counters to handlr their case. This prompted Inspector -General of Police, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, to extend the discount dateline and added that it would give the public an opportunity to clear their summons.

“Due to the over whelming response at the summons payment counters and at the District Police Headquarters including the contingents throughout the country, we decided to extend the summons payment compound period. According to the Chief of Police, 2.3 million summons have thus been paid amount totaling to RM109 million.

In view of the recent queues at the counters, the top cop has also instrcuted his officers to increase the number of personals manning the counters at the various police stations.

With the event ending this weekend, Malaysians who were given 80% discount on summons can now opt to visit stations to settle all thier outstanding traffic summons.
