With many folks still reeling from the worst weekend of their lives when an unexpected flood disaster took place in most parts of the Peninsular, the Inland Revenue Board has stepped in to offer its assistance by giving deferment notice for those affected.

In a posting, the tax collector extended a one-month period for taxpayers and employers affected by the floods to file in their CP204 form which was supposed to end by December 31 2021.

It informed that following the postponement, the deadline for payment of Estimated Tax Payable (CP204) was extended until January 31, while the payment of investigation, audit, collection, civil suit installments for January was postponed until February. Accordingly, the deadline for payment of Monthly Tax Deduction (PCB) or CP38 for employees for the month of December’s remuneration has been extended to be remitted until Jan 31 next together with the payment of the remaining tax is allowed to be deferred until a period requested by the taxpayer.

Meanwhile, taxpayers and affected employers must submit the application for deferment of payment via e-mail and feedback form which can be accessed on the IRB’s official portal with supporting documents. Any inquiries can be submitted to the IRB through the ‘Live Chat’ line and the feedback form on the official portal.
