LZS Funds The Rebuilding Of 32 Houses Washed Away In Hulu Langat

The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) has stepped up in an effort to help victims affected by the flood situation, the board is covering the cost of rebuilding 32 houses in Hulu Langat that were washed away and destroyed by floods last month.

Mohd Khairuddin Othman who is the Exco said the land and district offices also contributed a number of funds to ensure the house construction process went smoothly. The head of the district’s post-flood coordination committee explained that assistance was given to all on the condition that their and house land belonged to the victim. “This assistance is not only for those who are eligible to receive zakat but any victims who have lost their homes.

As of December, Dato ‘Menteri Besar of Selangor stated that Hulu Langat was one of the district worst affected by the floods and suffered severe damage and required much assistance, this was followed by Sri Muda, Shah Alam and Bukit Lanchong, Subang Jaya.

The State Government has allocated a total of RM2 million from the Selangor Bangkit fund to be channeled to Hulu Langat to rehabilitate most of the district that was affected by the floods.
