Digital Nasional Berhad has appointed HSS Engineers as project management consultants and awarded two Framework Services Agreements for the national implementation of Malaysia’s 5G infrastructure and network deployment.
The scope of HSSI’s consultancy services encompasses commercial contract management for term sheets and access agreements, RFx, and negotiation for site leasing CRate card and special conditions, as well as site management partner for post site acquisition activities.
Chairman Tan Sri Ir. Kuna Sittampalam said his group had been eyeing opportunities in the telecommunications sector in recent years, especially since the Malaysian Government has trained its sights on next-generation technologies to fast-track the nation’s digital aspirations.
“We are extremely excited to embark on this prestigious undertaking that will allow us to reprise our integral role in further enhancing Malaysia’s telecommunications infrastructure. This is a successful diversification in HEB Group’s customer base, complementing our prowess in transportation, ports, and water sectors.”
This will mark HEB Group’s first entrance into the telecommunications segment, leveraging on its track record and deep experience in undertaking national infrastructure projects.
The duration of the contract is from November 2021 to December 2022. Therefore, it is expected to contribute positively to the revenue, earnings and net assets for the financial years ending 31 December 2021 and 2022.
DNB is the official entity appointed by the Malaysian government to undertake the deployment of 5G nationwide, as to date selected parts of Klang Valley and Putrajaya have live demonstrations with more cities planned in the coming months.
