FTSE BM KLCI Dips 12.59 Points, -0.82% to 1530.33

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 19 – Malaysian shares ended lower on Wednesday in line with the overnight downtrend in the US market as well the Asian markets. Most Asian markets ended lower today except HKEX.

** Bursa Malaysia ended lower on Wednesday, the FTSE BM KLCI shed 12.59 points or 0.82% to 1530.33

** The FTSE BM KLCI opened at 1,541.70. The index fluctuated between 1,525.55 – 1,541.70.

** 258 counters are gainers, 346 counters are unchanged, while 780 counters are losers.

** Total volume of 3,568,544,700 shares changed hands; while Turnover of RM2,606,913,846.

** The Top 5 Gainers : KLK (21.40, +0.34); F&N (25.74, +0.24) ; COMPLET (3.15, +0.23) ; PMBTECH-WA (9.30, +0.20) ; PETGAS (16.74, +0.18)

** The Top 5 Losers :FANG-XL (14.18, -2.22) ; MPI (39.78, -2.22) ; NESTLE (131.90, -1.60) ; AEONCR (14.72, -0.46) ; KESM (11.00, -0.46)

** The Top 5 Most Active Stocks :EAH (0.015, -0.01); DNEX (0.91, +0.045); EASTLND-OR (0.01, -0.005); SCIB (0.27, + 0.065); SMTRACK (0.225, -0.01)

** Key regional markets were ended lower.

** Singapore’s Straits Times Index (STI) ended slightly lower 1.29 or -0.04% to 3,278.75 ; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index up 15.07 points or +0.062% at 24,127.85;  Japan’s Nikkei 225 dipped 790.02 or -2.80% at 27,467.23, and Korea’s KOSPI down 21.96 points or -0.77% to 2,842.28;  Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index declined 11.73 points or -0.33% to 3,558.18.
