PwC Commences Review On VS Industry Labour Practices

VS Industry which was questioned on its labour practices will now see PwC Consulting commencing duty in relation to the independent third party review on how the company treats its workers.

This was part of the commitment given by the management of the company to have a third party unbiased review of migrant workers in the electronic factory. This will also enable the group to receive feedback and comments from PwC on areas that need improvement which can be included in the Recalibration Programme that it had initiated.

VS stated that PwC Consulting will be supported by an independent labour rights consultant in conducting the review. The group also says that it had agreed to fully cooperate as well as allow the review team sufficient time to undertake the extensive audit work. It added that it will make announcements if there is any material development in respect of this matter.

To support its worker’s welfare, the group is constructing new hostels at approximately RM30 million and will comply with the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act.
