The ‘Modul Pembayaran Denda Dalam Talian’ (e-Denda) which has been introduced in several courts in the Klang Valley since December last year will be fully expanded in the lower courts in Peninsular Malaysia.
The Office of the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court in a statement today said the e-Denda for lower courts in Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan began on May 12; Selangor, Perak, Putrajaya, and Kuala Lumpur City Hall on May 13 while Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor on May 25.
“For the lower courts in Penang, Kedah, and Perlis, it will start on May 26. In this regard, the process of settling the payment of fines can be done online using the Financial Process Exchange (FPX) through the e-Judicial System portal at https://ecourt.kehakiman.gov.my.
Through the implementation of this module, there is no longer a need for the public to go to the court payment counter, thus speeding up the process of paying fines and releasing the accused,” according to the statement.
The statement informed government agencies, lawyers, or the public who wish to understand the procedure for using the e-Fine module in more detail, can browse the Official Portal of the Malaysian Judiciary at www.kehakiman.gov.my or contact [email protected] and line 03-27331313.
Previously, the Malaysian Judiciary had launched a pilot e-Denda module starting in the lower courts at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, Shah Alam Court Complex, and Selayang Court, Selangor on December 1 2021.
