10,000 TNB Workers On Duty For The Raya Holidays

Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia’s utility board is deploying nearly 10,000 workers at various levels in critical sectors of its service chain throughout the Peninsula, to ensure the stability of the electricity supply for the coming holidays.

The rotation and standby assignments cover power stations, control centers, and the entire service chain including grids and
substations to ensure the smooth transmission and distribution of electricity supply including customer service operations.

President and Chief Executive Officer of TNB, Datuk Ir. Baharin Din said the monitoring in each state was increased with the expectation that people would return earlier for Hari Raya in their hometowns after two years of not being able to do so due to the movement control order.”

The CEO added that the 72 -hour period during the eve of Hari Raya is critical with the expectation of electricity consumption will surge.

TNB has advised those leaving their homes for a long period to ensure their power switches are shut off and unplug electrical items from their socket as precautionary.
