MOH Expects Covid 19 Case Spike Post Raya Holidays

The Ministry of Health expects Covid 19 case spikes after the Hari Raya break, Health Director-General Tan Sri Noor Hisham project case increase will be in those in categories 1 and 2.

This comes from the observation by the Ministry for the past 2 months which showed case spikes were mainly in these categories with mild to zero symptoms indicated. Cases in ICU have dropped drastically including those in need of ventilators, this shows the effects of vaccination are working and giving the community herd immunity over the virus.

Positive cases have also dropped to 1,503 the lowest seen since SOP relaxation was initiated, the DG who was expecting cases to go up with border reopening was pleased to see cases instead declining which shows that the community is building immunity over the disease.
