Traffic Kilometres Long Heading Into KV As Users Take Advantage Of Free Toll

Road authority has informed that the traffic flow on the main highway heading to the Klang Valley experienced congestion as many started their journey back in order to benefit from the free toll offer announced by the Prime Minister before the Hari Raya exodus.

Free tolls were offered on the North-South Expressway and the East Coast Expressway (LPT) from midnight last night until tomorrow for those looking to return to the city after the Aidilfitri holiday.

A spokesman for the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said as of noon today, traffic flow on the North-South Highway
towards the Klang Valley was congested at Sungai Petani Selatan to Bertam, Permatang Pauh to Perai and Juru to
Bandar Cassia. “Traffic congestion for 10 kilometers in Changkat Jering to Kuala Kangsar, Bukit Merah to Taiping, Sungai Perak to Menora Tunnel, Ipoh to Simpang Pulai, climbing areas at Gua Tempurung to Tapah, Rest and Treatment Area Tapah to Bidor, Ladang Bikam to Sungkai and Bukit Beruntung to Rawang, ”he said when contacted by Bernama.

He added that for traffic flow from the East Coast, congestion was reported in Karak towards Bukit Tinggi and from the south there was traffic congestion from Skudai to Kulai, Yong Peng to Pagoh and Senawang Rest and Treatment Area to Port
Dickson. “The flow of traffic out of the Klang Valley on the main highways is all under control,” he added.
